It just dawned upon me that all of us humans; we're taking advantage of so many things in this world. We've subconciously morphed into selfish people, taking and taking, and not sparing a thought.

There are boyfriends who take advantage of their girlfriends and vice versa. Taking for granted that they will always have the love that they want. When you have a partner who loves you unconditionally, you use that sense of security you get from him/her to your liking. Going out, mingling with the opposite sex, getting laid, maybe, while the other worries about you at home. Or simply verbally or physically abusing the other.

Then there are parents who take advantage of their well-behaved children. Just because your teenager is nice enough not to drink and club and throw some angst-induced teen tantrum, doesn't mean you use all of your "parental power" to imprison them to staying at home like 85% of the entire day. But of course, there are children who simply let loose on the fact that their parents hardly question their doings and whereabouts to the extent of losing all forms of self-discipline and they get wasted. At the same time putting in no effort to give their parents some form or respect.

Then what about followers of faith, who take for granted that God will always forgive, and at that, forgetting their responsibilities to Him. Taking advantage of the fact that there's still more to life, and least expecting that they'll probably die in a crash 10 days from now, and being oh so confident that Judgement Day is 978945642 days from today, that there's ample to time to repent.

Next we have us, generally. The modern day human being, us who use excessive amounts of petrol, paper and all of Mother Nature's natural resources and at the same time expecting her to reproduce these resources at the same rate at which we are using them. If Mother Nature could speak, I bet she'll hold the record for the highest number of explicit words spewed in a minute. Thank heavens she's mute or we're pretty much done for, really. But then again, if we were to stop using all these resources, life wouldn't be functional at all.

No gas, no paper, no resources = no fuction = no life.

Then we have citizens who live in countries who are hardly harmed at all, and hence taking for granted of the security and stability in the land they live on, indirectly living with a mindset that "as long as i continue paying my dues, the country will be safe enough, i'm sure."; as though a natural disaster can't appear any time and their country will forever be free from all forms of attacks.

But there are also some political leaders who take advantage of their obedient people, hence leaving their people with barely anything to live on, because of such high taxes and "demand for more $ so that the country can be better for everyone". Even if it means, homes get smaller and dearer, it'll seem fine enough to them. Because it's they people who suffer. Not them.

Or there are political leaders who poke their noses into the issues of other nations, keeping in mind "to help other nations should they be in need or distress", but without even realizing for a split second that their own nation is pretty much disorganized.

I think the list is pretty much endless. It's just a sad, disdain cycle that goes to show just how weak and dependant and selfish we humans can be. Unfortunately, I fall into almost all the categories that I've listed. I'm just guilty as everyone and anyone else.

Oh well.
